The 43rd foundation day of VSS on 29th December 2002 was celebrated with a cultural evening at spiritual gathering in Missouri
It all began before dinner with a competition in Kaoshikii and Tandava dance. Then two birthday cakes were served at dinner time. The cultural program called Chandosik started with the distribution of two prizes that went to the best sportsperson of the year (Kiiran, from Albuquerque ) and best service-person of the year (Dr. Pashupati from NC) handed over by one of the senior-most members of VSS, Ashok Maheshvari.
The MC who was also Kiiran was overjoyed to receive some recognition for her achievement in marathon running 4h 20 min. at age 53, as she could never win in the kaoshiki competitions before. Dr. Pashupati served over 600 people in Haiti in 2002 which is a record.
Some of the year’s achievement were announced by Srinivas and then his wife Citi choreographed a prabhat samgheet song in indian dance style. The highlight of the evening was a play “The Lord of the Lotus” produced by Dada Mokseshvarananda, directed by Anadi and played by 5 boys and girls. Some beautiful heartfilling songs were sung by Anjali.
