 Impressions :

I learned that things that you really don’t like to do can help you more than the things that you do want to do or like.

I found that the vision quest was inspiring as well as the beauty and majesty of the landscape of Jamaica.

The most challenging thing had to be the hike up Blue Mountain. That was definitely hard, but it left me with a feeling of pride and accomplishment when I was done.

Besides learning the 16 points, I learned more about the reasons behind our meditation practices. I learned bits and things here and there, tips on fasting, meditating, all around health and...

... how to climb a mountain. Climbing the mountain, I learned that you just have to keep on going, stopping doesn’t help except to catch your breath, and complaining only wastes breath. I learned that you just have to keep on going, and eventually you’ll get there, even if it seems you never will. Also I found that you can’t just think about the top, you need to enjoy your surrounding.

Although activities can be more fun with a group of friends, it can also be very pleasant to be alone and hear only yourself and the wonderful whistling and chirping of the birds. Solitude can be beautiful.

On this trip I have learned about the difficulties of a 3rd world country. Though have not been here long, I did not fail to see poverty, suffering and loss of enthusiasm for life.

I was very inspired by the beauty of the land and the freshness of the mountain air to do better mediation and to relax more.

The biggest challenge of this trip for me was every car ride. I think I got carsick on almost every one of them. This make my day more difficult and it make me tired.

I have learned a lot here – (about: myself, Baba, spiritual practice, etc.) I learned I have the power to do anything I put my mind to for example climbing Blue Mountain. I have also learned that practicing meditation and yoga really makes me feel good/better.

Inspiring: The beauty of nature has inspired in many ways to make myself more beautiful inside&ldots;. To clean up my negative and harsh thoughts and project love and happiness. Kiirtan (SP) inspired me in ways words can’t describe. I’m going to go to DC every Sunday when I leave. The Acaryas (SP) inspired me to be a better person and help others as much as I can. Karate inspired me to take a physical exercise class/self-defense class when I get home.
